Summer Fun!

2019 Marin County Fair, Over the Moon!

The fair will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing as well as some of the things we value most in our community: family, art, agriculture, and the environment.

Themed exhibit categories will include decorated moons and paper moons; exciting photography categories including moonscapes, barnyard buddies, and trees; new and innovative makers projects; baked goods, lively culinary contests, fine art, and much more.

On the Blue Ribbon Stage, we will feature a cheese of the day as an homage to the moon made of cheese in the Fair artwork. Returning Fair classics are traditional carnival rides, free concerts, and fireworks every night over the Civic Center’s Lagoon Park.

As always, the Marin County Fair prides itself on being the Greenest County Fair on Earth with its solar-powered carousel and stage, commitment to water conservation, and a record of over 91 percent waste diversion to compost and recycling.

Everything you need to know about entertainment, competitive exhibits, things to do, transit options and more can be found here.

Hope to see you there!

Marin County Free Library - Summer Challenge for Kids & Teens

Keep your children engaged and learning this summer with the Summer Challenge!

Kids ages 0-12 can sign up for Summer Challenge at any branch of Marin County Free Library.  Each child receives a folder where they can keep track of the minutes they read and participate in fun learning activities. This year’s “Tales to Trails” Summer Challenge features many engaging programs in partnership with County, State and National Parks.

Teens can also participate in the Summer Challenge and sign up at any branch as well. Teens will earn scratcher tickets by checking out books, writing book reviews and attending teen events at the library.

To learn more about these free programs, visit the Marin County Library website.
