Expo to provide answers on Junior Accessory Dwelling Units

District 5 Header Image 2016

What exactly is a junior accessory dwelling unit, also known as a JADU? It’s one way to help alleviate Marin County’s housing crisis. More specifically, it’s a room rental within an existing residence; such units usually have a small food preparation area and separate entrance from the main entry of a home. While providing a new home for someone seeking affordable housing, it also can provide homeowners an income source. On Saturday, March 30, several organizations are collaborating to host a JADU expo. Come learn everything you need to know to add one to your home. Stop by to talk to contractors, planners and learn about the conversion process.
