Update from Kate

High Tides Coming This Week and Next:

Watch Where You Drive and Park!

Along with rain this week, the National Weather Service predicts strong winds and high tides. Especially high tides are coming our way on January 18, 19, 21, 22 and 23, and they have been arriving about 1 foot higher than predicted.

This means that we need to pay attention to where we drive and where we park. Please avoid Manzanita Park & Ride and other low-lying areas.

This period of rain is expected to bring 3 to 6 inches of rain to the hills with 1 to 3 inches in the valleys by the time precipitation ends Thursday night. Winds will be strongest along the coast and on higher ground, 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph. In lower elevations away from the coast, winds are predicted to be 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

Pay close attention to the tide chart below and consult the weather service daily tide updates here.
