King Tides Coming; Watch for Flooding and Be Prepared!

Despite the expected clear skies for this weekend and next week, high tides are predicted to cause localized flooding in areas of Marin County. Locations that are historically prone to tidal flooding, such as Manzanita Park & Ride near Tam Junction and HWY 101 ramps at Marin City, are most likely to be impacted.

Travelers and commuters should give themselves extra time in case of traffic delays due to localized flooding.  Do not try to drive through flooded areas; even 12 inches of standing water can float a standard-size car.

If your property is located in an area that experiences tidal flooding, it is advised to plan ahead. Drains and gutters on private property should be cleared of debris and, if necessary, sandbags should be filled in advance of expected flooding dates.
