ALERT:  FLOODING and Rain/High Winds Expected

 

The current forecast suggests a strong weather system with expected winds in the 25-35 mph range with gusts to 45 mph over the higher terrain of the Bay Area Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.  Rain totals of .5 to 1.5 inches are expected in lower elevations and 1.5 to 2.5 inches in the higher elevations.

 

Possible Flooding 

 

6 plus foot tides are expected at 9:14 am on Wednesday, at 9:47 am on Thursday and at 10:17 am on Friday.

 

Please exercise caution when driving through low-lying areas of known flooding such as at the Manzanita and Pohono intersections, along Shoreline Highway in Tam Junction and at the Highway 101 exit at Sausalito/Marin City.

 

Power Alert from PG&E

PG&E anticipates sustained outages in the North Bay Area and has increased local crews to respond.

 

If you need assistance, please always first call 800-743-5000 to report a problem.  If there is any concern for safety (e.g. wires down) immediately call 911 and ask that Dispatch contact PG&E’s 4911 number for First Responders only.

Report an outage and check on a known outage: Select a location on the map or search by city. Once outage details appear, you will be able to sign up to receive outage updates.

 

Get alerts for future outages: First, log in to your PG&E account. Under Alerts, go to Outages. Then select edit. You can choose to be notified by text, email or phone.  Don't have an account? You can sign up now.

 

What to Do If You See a Downed Power Line

Never go near a damaged power line that has fallen to the ground or is dangling in the air. Always assumed downed electric lines are energized and extremely dangerous. Stay away, keep others away and immediately call 911 and PG&E at 1-800-743-5002.

 

Stay away from trees, pools of water & other objects that may be in contact w/ power lines and call 911 then PG&E at 1-800-743-5002.

 

Outage Tip: Unplug or turn off all electrical appliances to avoid overloading circuits when power is restored.

 

If you must use candles, keep them away from draperies, lampshades & small children. Do not leave candles unattended.
