Join Me to Celebrate The Return of a Grocery Store to Tam Valley!

On Wednesday, March 9th at 11:00 am, I've been invited to help officiate at the ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of Good Earth Natural Foods in Tam Junction at the corner of Shoreline Highway and Flamingo Road. This is a day to mark the return of a grocery store to this historic location. I hope you will join us as we welcome the Good Earth team to Southern Marin.

All of us worked hard and joined together to bring Good Earth to this location. There were many hurdles to clear to get to this point and I was glad to be a champion both out front with the community and behind the scenes. There were issues to sort, conversations to mediate, and details to work through but we had the community solidly behind us. Along the way, Good Earth persisted and had a vision about creating a community gathering place as well as a grocery store. Now, that's really something to celebrate!

If you have visited their store in Fairfax, you know that Good Earth's mission is to bring to market high quality organic, local foods - the best of what our local food shed grows right here in Marin. By offering a wide variety of bulk food items, Good Earth also helps us reduce packaging and waste, a huge boon for our environment. Good Earth's leaders have shown their commitment to our local community and its health and wellness by sponsoring Tam Valley Community Services District's Creekside Fridays live, local summertime music, supporting healthy, organic school lunches, and lobbying for food safety and against GMOs and pesticides. Count me all in!

I'm honored to be invited to help cut the ribbon with Al Baylacq and Mark Squire, Good Earth team members, community leaders and residents on Good Earth's opening day. I hope you will join in this celebration to welcome Good Earth to Southern Marin. Remember to walk, bike or rideshare to this community gathering!
