 Avon Walk

Here come the people in PINK!

This weekend, July 11-12, approximately 1,800 walkers will embark on a 39-mile loop through San Francisco and Marin to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Avon 39 will begin with an opening ceremony at Fort Mason in San Francisco followed by a 26.2-mile route to Corte Madera Town Park, the overnight campsite for all event participants and then the return trip the following day. On the first leg of the journey, the route will pass through Sausalito, run along the MV-Sausalito Path, go over Horse Hill, along Casa Buena Drive, then to Town Park. On Sunday, July 12th, the return-trip route will cover 13.1 miles back to Fort Mason.

Marin County Parks and the Marin County Bicycle Coalition will be out on the Mill Valley-Sausalito Multiuse Pathway at the Sycamore roundabout on Saturday morning encouraging walkers and all path users to SHARE THE PATH and be conscious of their surroundings, make room for one another, and be safe.

Signs will be posted at entry points along the path notifying the general public of the event. Please be prepared for congestion and delays, and/or consider adjusting your riding schedule or route to avoid these conditions all together. Cheer on the walkers when you get a chance!
