Free Wasted Food Solutions Training

Massachusetts Center for Ecotechnology (CET) has been providing their unique, customized wasted food assistance for decades. Having served thousands of businesses, they’re ready to share what they know.

The ReFED Catalytic Grant Fund affords CET the opportunity to train other entities across the country to provide the same waste assistance they’ve built a reputation on, at no cost

The Lookbook and webpage provide details about CET and the train-the-trainer program. Here’s a quick snapshot of what they’ll be teaching:

Participants in the program will learn how to:

  • Conduct onsite food waste assessments to identify opportunities to reduce wasted food
  • Empower employees through education and training
  • Conduct cost analysis for starting or expanding diversion programs
  • Connect with organics haulers and processors
  • Share successes and promote wasted food reduction

Eligible participants include:

  • Municipalities with wasted food diversion or carbon emission reduction goals
  • Climate or sustainability nonprofits
  • Economic development organizations providing business development support to underserved entrepreneurs
  • Businesses or organizations in the waste reduction, sustainability, or restaurant services space with a vision to leverage these skills to enhance their value proposition and expand their impact

CET will be evaluating candidates through December 2024.
