Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center Named Among America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2026 by Newsweek
Recognition Highlights Deep Commitment to Patient-Centered Recovery and Vital Role in LA County’s Safety Net
DOWNEY, CA – TODAY, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, one of the nation’s premier public rehabilitation hospitals, has been named among America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2026 by Newsweek. This recognition places Rancho Los Amigos within a distinguished group of 330 inpatient rehabilitation facilities evaluated for excellence in clinical quality, professional reputation, accreditation, and patient experience.
At Rancho Los Amigos, every patient story matters,” said Dr. Christina Ghaly, Director of LA Health Services. “Our patients come to us during some of the most challenging moments of their lives — recovering from spinal cord injuries, strokes, and complex trauma — and they trust us to help them rebuild their futures. This national recognition reflects our unwavering dedication to restoring independence and dignity for every person who comes through our doors. I’m incredibly proud of how our clinicians combine leading-edge rehabilitation medicine with the compassion and respect every patient deserves.”
Konita Wilks, CEO of Rancho Los Amigos, emphasized what the honor means for the hospital’s mission:
“Rancho has always been a place where hope meets healing. Our patients depend on us not just for expert rehabilitation, but for encouragement, empowerment, and a safe place to begin again. Being recognized by Newsweek is meaningful, but what matters most is what it represents — the dedication of our staff, who show up every day ready to fight for our patients’ progress. As a safety-net hospital, we proudly serve individuals who might otherwise have nowhere else to turn. This recognition reinforces that world-class care belongs to everyone, not just those with the means to access it.”
