FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Topanga, CA – On Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) will be performing aerial firefighting training with partner agencies at the 69 Bravo Helispot located in the Santa Monica Mountains above Topanga Canyon.
Residents are likely to see low-flying aircraft and hear activity in the area. We want to assure residents this is an important operational readiness drill.
69 Bravo is a strategic Helispot in the Santa Monica Mountains with one 10,000-gallon water tank, four 8,000-gallon dip tanks, and two ground-fill sites that support both day and nighttime aerial firefighting operations. This location provides a critical resource to the LACoFD to protect local and surrounding communities in the event of a wildfire.
For questions, please contact Fire Captain Aaron Katon, LACoFD Public Information Officer, at (213) 200-2477.
