Tax Deadline flyer with building in background, Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector logo and LA County Recovers logo

The Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector is reminding residents whose properties were impacted by the Eaton and Palisades fires that the deadline to make payments is today, April 30, 2026. Property owners who are unable to make a timely payment due to wildfire impacts are strongly encouraged to submit a request for property tax relief on or after May 1, 2026, to avoid penalties and interest.

Eligible property owners may request relief by submitting a Penalty Cancellation Request and completing the following steps:

  • Access the request form here: https://ttc.lacounty.gov/public-inquiries?form=penaltycform
  • Have your Assessor’s Identification Number (AIN) available (found on your property tax bill). If you do not have your bill, you may locate your AIN using your property address here: https://portal.assessor.lacounty.gov/
  • Provide your name, mailing address, email address, and a valid phone number, as staff may need to contact you.
  • Enter your AIN again in the “Penalty Cancellation Request” field.
  • In the “Comment” field, include: “Fire-Impacted Property.”
  • Click “Submit.”
  • After submitting the request, you will receive an automated confirmation.

The Treasurer and Tax Collector accepts partial payments. Property owners who are able to make a partial or full payment on fire-impacted properties should contact the office to ensure payments are applied correctly and without penalties.
