LACDPH aligning with CDPH AFL 25-01 for Healthcare Workers who test positive for COVID-19 and have mild disease

Dear colleagues,

 

We hope you are all staying safe and weathering these difficult times as well as can be expected.

 

As many of you know, the California Department of Public Health recently issued AFL-25-01 that shortens the COVID-19 exclusion period for healthcare providers who test positive for SARS-CoV-2 and have mild COVID-19 disease (or are asymptomatic) to 3 days from 5 as long as the person is fever free for at least 24 hours and symptoms are improving AND as long as they wear a medical mask for 10 days from the time of onset.  LACDPH is aligning with this guidance and will be posting updated guidance documents to reflect this change shortly.  Healthcare facilities can choose to be more stringent with their local guidance if deemed appropriate for their setting type.
