Native American Heritage Month is a time to honor the history and achievements of the Indigenous peoples of the United States. This observance highlights the advancement of Indigenous rights, in the face of past government policies that advocated for assimilation, displacement, and genocide. ADOPT-A-FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

The DPSS Adopt-A-Family Program has launched for the holidays. Participate in this season of giving by sponsoring a low-income family receiving DPSS benefits in Los Angeles County. Individuals and groups interested in sponsoring a family may apply online today at http://bit.ly/DPSSAAF. Sponsors may adopt one or multiple families.  Information on the size and location of the family will be provided. For additional information, please email AdoptAFamily@dpss.lacounty.gov.

BECOME A MEMBER OF THE L.A. COUNTY YOUTH COMMISSION

The Los Angeles County Youth Commission is accepting applications for commissioners to work with other members to provide feedback on policies and programs that impact youth in L.A. County. The Youth Commission collaborates with local community-based organizations and leaders to identify new approaches to serving youth.
