Barger and Fellow High Desert Corridor JPA Board Members Sign Landmark Agreements with Union Labor to Construct, Operate, and Maintain Multimillion High Desert Corridor High Speed Rail Project
WHAT:
High Desert Corridor Joint Powers Agency (HDC JPA) Board members and various Union Labor representatives will ceremoniously sign two landmark agreements for the High Desert Corridor High Speed Rail Project. The agreements consist of a Community Workforce Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding that codify the project’s use of highly skilled union labor—an action that will create thousands of essential jobs required to construct, operate, and maintain the HDC High Speed Rail Project. Estimates project the HDC High Speed Rail Project will generate $12B in economic activity for the Antelope Valley and surrounding region.

DETAILS/BACKGROUND:
Visuals will include HDJ JPA Board members and Union leaders ceremoniously signing two documents in front of the clock towner at the Palmdale Transportation Center. This center will be demolished and replaced with a state-of-the-art transportation hub that will anchor the HDC High Speed Rail Project. Renderings of the HDC High Speed Rail Project are available here and will also be on display at the event.
