The person arrived on Turkish Airlines on January 25. On that same day they visited Chick-fil-A on Devonshire in Northridge. People who were in proximity of the infected person or at the same locations might have been at risk of developing measles.
Measles is spread by air and by direct contact even before symptoms appear and can lead to severe disease. People who have not had measles in the past and have not been vaccinated against the measles are at risk of contracting it if exposed. Public Health encourages residents to confirm their measles vaccination status and talk to their provider about getting the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) immunization.

It is intended to increase transparency by providing permanent full-time employees with regular insights into their work records and ensuring the accuracy of our data. On Monday, February 12, 2024, all County employees will receive an email memo guiding them to access, review, and complete the EVF electronically. All employees will be required to complete and submit the EVF no later than Monday, February 26, 2024, at 6 pm (2 weeks total).
Employment Verification Form System Overview and Access
- EVF will be available on eForms. All employees will have to go through My.LAcounty.gov Workplace under the Countywide tile.
- Provides employees with an individual summary of the job titles and employment dates of each position they have held throughout their County career, with data pulled from eHR and CWTAPPS. It allows employees to electronically sign, verify accuracy, identify any discrepancies, and provide supporting documentation.
Changes since the last EVF in 2020
The EVF system will display the employee's County work history up to July 1,1990. Any work history prior to July 1, 1990, will NOT be shown on the form, and this work history is beyond the scope of this campaign. Going forward, this verification campaign will run every 2 years starting this February 2024.

As a result, Public Health has modified the Health Officer Order that required healthcare personnel and visitors to wear a mask.
The Health Order states:
- Masking is no longer mandated for all staff and visitors.
- Healthcare personnel in licensed healthcare facilities who have not received both the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines must continue to wear a mask while inside an LA Health Services facility until April 30.
- Public Health continues to strongly recommend that all visitors and staff working in licensed healthcare facilities wear a mask while in contact with patients or working in patient care.
LA Health Services is also following the updated Workforce Member Guidance for COVID-19 which offers recommendations for isolation days, and infection periods for healthcare workers.
![Black History Month](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/CALACOUNTY/2024/02/8946910/black-history-month-graphic-v02-85_original.png) Dear Colleagues,
Black History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Black people and their accomplishments, contributions, and influences - including health care.
We stand on the shoulders of medical pioneers such as Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman in the United States to receive an MD, and Charles Richard Drew, the father of blood banking and countless other trailblazers.
As a Black woman, Black History Month especially resonates with me as I press toward equity. My family's story exemplifies Black people's strength to improve all Americans' lives. My grandfather, Mr. Delmar Tilley, fought alongside many Black Americans in World War II. My great aunt, a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, relocated to Los Angeles and embarked on a career of service. My ancestors’ stories and those who dedicated their lives to others during the most distressing historical periods constantly inspire me.
Our LA Health Services workforce is another inspiration to celebrate Black History Month. Together we give access and opportunities to the next generation of healthcare providers. Our facilities strive to foster welcoming environments, where our services are enhanced by the life experiences and diversity of each staff person. I honor and salute you, for doing this significant work of enriching lives and creating a brighter future for us all.
I stand on the shoulders of all the heroes who courageously fight for equity and justice. I encourage you to celebrate Black History Month by learning more about significant Black figures, supporting Black-owned businesses, attending a cultural event, engaging in open conversations about race, and amplifying Black voices through sharing their stories and achievements.
