[DATE]
Dear parents of [name of school],
Welcome back to school and we hope everyone enjoyed their vacations. While currently COVID-19 is less risky for most individuals than it has been in the past, reducing transmission of COVID-19 remains an essential strategy to help protect those most vulnerable for severe illness, to minimize disruption at schools, and to reduce the chances of experiencing Long COVID.
We’d like to recommend three simple steps to help stop COVID from slowing our school community down as we get back to school this fall.
- As a precaution, we’d like to invite all students and staff to administer an at home COVID antigen test the evening before or the morning of your return to school. If you need a test for your child, you can pick one up from us on [insert day and times] at the main office.
- If you think your child has been exposed to COVID recently or if you are worried they might be more susceptible to catching COVID, we encourage them to wear a mask for the first two weeks of school.
- Finally, the best defense against COVID is for your child to be up-to-date on their COVID vaccines. For information about where to get vaccinated visit the LA County Public Health How to Get Vaccinated
The staff and I will be following these same precautions so that we can start off strong as we enter the 23-24 school year. Thank you as always for being our most important partners in this journey.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to the well-being of our school community.
