PROBATION OVERSIGHT COMMISSION SEEKS TO FILL COMMISSIONER SEATS
Los Angeles, CA –The Probation Oversight Commission (POC) seeks to fill two at-large commissioner seats recently vacated by Commissioners Danielle Dupuy, Ph.D. and Dominique Nong, Esq. Commissioners Nong and Dupuy are inaugural members of the POC.
Recommended by the original supervisorial appointees of the POC, after a thorough application and vetting process, they were approved by the Board of Supervisors and have both served since the POC’s launch in February 2021. "Their contributions are sincerely appreciated and we wish them the best in their new endeavors" expressed POC executive director Wendelyn Julien.

We welcome applications to fill these two positions. According to the ordinance, applicants must reside in Los Angeles County, cannot be a current employee of Los Angeles County, and cannot be or have been an employee of any law enforcement or prosecutorial agency during the past year.

Background:
The POC is the first body of its kind in the nation charged with civilian oversight of the Los Angeles County Probation Department, a department with a budget of over $1 billion.
The Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to create the Probation Oversight Commission on October 1st, 2019 following the recommendations of the Probation Reform Implementation Team (PRIT) with the mission to bring systemic reform to the Probation Department. The Commission is comprised of nine commissioners appointed by the Board of Supervisors, and six staff members.
Since 2020, the Commission has been focused on the improvement of Probation Department's Data and Research, Program's and Services, Facilities, Conditions, and Closures; and Training, Personnel Management and Development. Read our reports, attend our meetings.
