LOS ANGELES – With boosters for children ages 5-11 now available in Los Angeles County, LA County Public Health will be encouraging parents to bring eligible children to the county’s vaccination sites to get boosted before summer vacation and holiday travel.
With cases increasing by 264% this past month among children ages 5-11(a higher rate of increase than the corresponding 116% increase among young adults ages 18-49), the estimated 255,000 children eligible for the booster are encouraged to take advantage of the additional protection offered by the 3rd dose of the pediatric Pfizer vaccine.
Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Director of Public Health, will be available at the Public Health vaccination pod located at the Balboa Sports Complex to answer questions. Media will be allowed indoors at the vaccination site.
