COVID-19 UPDATES: VACCINE, TESTING & OTHER UPDATES
LA County is now past the winter surge. Stay safe by getting your COVID-19 vaccine or booster. If you have symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19, please get tested. LEARN MORE ABOUT LA COUNTY’S POST-SURGE PLAN
Vaccines: Starting Friday, April 1st, LA County will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test to enter indoor mega events like sports games or concerts.
Variants: The BA.2 subvariant of Omicron is starting to spread in LA County. Right now, BA.2 only makes up ~6% of cases in LA County.
Testing: Uninsured residents in LA County will continue to have access to free COVID-19 testing. Free testing for those who are uninsured can still be found at covid19.lacounty.gov/testing/
Insured residents in LA County who have health care insurance, you will now need to obtain testing from their primary health care provider. In cases, when their health care provider cannot provide a test, some sites listed at will provide them with a COVID-19 test as long as they present their current health care insurance info.

Good News! Starting May 1, individuals 50 and older can get full-scope Medi-Cal. Immigration status does not matter.
