LOS ANGELES, CA - Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, First District, is announcing the opening of a COVID-19 testing site in Hacienda Heights at Steinmetz Park. This is in addition to the four sites in the First District announced last week: Centro Estrella in East Los Angeles, Morgan Park in Baldwin Park, South El Monte Community Center, and La Puente Community Center. There are now over 25 County and state-operated COVID-19 testing sites in the First District.
"I continue to work diligently, through various partnerships, to increase testing capacity in the First District," said Supervisor Solis. “Our communities are looking to the County for resources, and I am glad we are able to launch another testing site that residents can easily access.”
The new testing site at Steinmetz Park is a County partnership with CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort). It launched yesterday and will continue to operate Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with capacity for 1,000 tests each day. Residents will not be asked about immigration status and health insurance is not required to get tested at these locations.
The site will remain at Steinmetz Park until January 22, 2022 before moving to another location.
Address: 1545 S Stimson Ave, Hacienda Heights, CA 91745
Hours of Operation: 9:30am - 4pm, Tuesday through Saturday, until January 22.

Many other free testing sites are located throughout the County and residents can go to covid19.lacounty.gov/testing to find out information about where to get tested near them. Tests are free and proof of medical insurance is not required.
The County has also re-launched the At-Home Test Collection Program where residents with COVID-19 symptoms or a recent exposure receive an at-home testing nasal swab kit via mail. To request an at-home test kit, residents can visit covid19.lacounty.gov/la-county-holiday-home-test-collection-program.
Residents can walk-in to any vaccination site or make an appointment at the hundreds of sites across the County by visiting vaccinatelacounty.com.
Supervisor Solis has been a strong advocate of launching testing sites throughout the First District since the very beginning of the crisis. From mega testing sites such as the ones located at the Pomona Fairplex, which has a weekly capacity of 10,000 tests, the San Gabriel Valley Airport in El Monte, Whittier Narrows in South El Monte, and East Los Angeles Community College in Monterey Park, to local community testing sites such as those located at the North Recreation Center in Azusa, Morgan Park in Baldwin Park, and the Civic Center in Montebello, Supervisor Solis has supported their facilitation. Additional testing sites will be launched over the coming weeks across the First District. For more information please visit covid19.lacounty.gov/testing or dial 2-1-1.
