REVISED: Urgent Need for Nurse Volunteers for PEH Outbreak Management Covid-19 Testing
County of Los Angeles, California sent this bulletin at 01/05/2022 01:23 PM PSTWe Need Your Help with COVID-19 Testing!
Attention: Public Health Nurse Supervisors, Public Health Nurses, Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses
The Los Angeles County (LAC) Department of Public Health (DPH) conducts testing at shelters for People Experiencing Homelessness (PEH) every day, including weekends. We are recruiting volunteers to assist with COVID-19 testing.
Testers will work closely with PEH outbreak management staff. Volunteer shifts should only be taken during your regularly scheduled days off, NOT in replacement of your regular assignments.
Desired Qualifications: Previously worked testing clients for COVID-19 but all licensed staff will be trained. Available slots are limited.
If you are interested in assisting during work hours or overtime, click on the Survey link https://forms.office.com/g/3twwhvVwM0 and submit your request no later than Friday, January 7th by 4:30 p.m.
Testers are needed every day of the week, including weekends. Shifts are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Locations will vary depending on the location of outbreaks. Please add your home city to ensure we can deploy you close to your city of residence.
Provide your supervisor’s full name and DPH email address. Supervisors must approve your volunteer time for days you are assigned to work in your home assignment and for the overtime day/hours. Supervisors are encouraged to support this effort as long as this assignment does not affect your CORE assignments.
PEH outbreak management staff will email shift confirmations to forward to your supervisor prior to beginning your volunteer shifts. Staff assigned to be testers with PEH will receive an email stating the time and location of where they need to report.
Thank you.
