DECEMBER 10 IS THE DEADLINE TO ADOPT A FAMILY
The season of giving is here, and the Department of Public Social Services is encouraging you to consider sponsoring a family as part of the annual holiday Adopt-A-Family Program benefiting low-income families throughout the County of Los Angeles. The deadline to sponsor a family is Friday, December 10, 2021. Online sponsor applications are available at Volunteer Services (lacounty.gov).
EMERGENCY BROADBAND BENEFIT PROGRAM
Apply by the December 31, 2021 deadline to take advantage of the Emergency Broadband Benefit that provides qualifying households a $50 per month subsidy for Internet service until March 2022, and a $30 discount on Internet service thereafter. To better serve the County’s diverse population that speaks more than 35 languages, DPSS is seeking college graduates with a Bachelor’s degree who can read, write, and speak fluently in the languages of Russian, Cambodian (Khmer) or Korean for position of Eligibility Worker II. “Our customer service representatives include bilingual staff who are certified by the department’s Bureau of Human Resources,” said Chanwantha Sam Limon, Branch Manager, Bureau Human Resources. “As part of our mission to provide individuals and families with vital safety net services, we must ensure that we have the qualified staff available to deliver these services in the customers’ designated language.” For more information, visit GovernmentJobs.com/Careers/LACounty.
