  Omicron and COVID-19 BoosterÂ
A new COVID-19 variant has been found in California—the Omicron variant. While we are still learning about this new variant, we know that the COVID-19 vaccine is our best and strongest protection.
The pandemic is not over. The COVID-19 vaccines have been proven safe and have already proven effective with other variants.Â
All workforce members are eligible for the booster shot. The CDC recommends that all adults should get a COVID-19 booster. Click here for details on when to get your booster based on your primary vaccination series.
Make Your Appointment—COVID-19 booster shots are available at Employee Health Services (walk-ins and by appointment). Booster doses are also available at many locations, including community pharmacies and usually through your health care provider.

It’s Flu Season—There Is Still Time To Get Your Flu Shot
National Influenza Vaccination Week is from December 5-11. It serves as a reminder that there is still time to get a flu vaccine. Experts recommend everyone six months and older get their flu vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones.
You can get the flu vaccine safely at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccine. Getting both vaccines is the best way to protect yourself from getting very sick this winter.
