Amid the emergence of the Omicron variant concern, LA Health Services is closely monitoring information about this mutation of the COVID-19 virus. Experts advise your best protection is getting fully vaccinated and having a booster shot.
All three vaccines— Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson—are safe and effective. Everyone aged 5 years and older can get vaccines now.
To schedule your vaccine appointment, call your clinic or visit the LA Health Portal (formerly known as MyWellness).
Pregnancy and COVID-19 Vaccines

Did you know that pregnant women have a higher risk of severe illness or hospitalization due to COVID-19 than those who are not pregnant? The vaccine is recommended for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant, or might become pregnant in the future. If you have any questions about the vaccines, ask your healthcare provider. To schedule your vaccine appointment, see the links above.
It’s Flu Season
National Influenza Vaccination Week is from December 5-11. It serves as a reminder that there is still time to get a flu vaccine. Experts recommend everyone six months and older get their flu vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones. You can get the flu vaccine safely at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccine. Getting both vaccines is the best way to protect yourself from getting very sick this winter. See links above to schedule your vaccine appointment.
 Test Before You Gather
Think about getting a COVID-19 test as an extra step to protect your loved ones this holiday season. Getting tested can add a layer of protection for those who are unvaccinated or at risk of severe illness. If you would like to get a COVID-19 test, schedule it as close to your event as possible. Remember to allow enough time to get the results.
Schedule your COVID-19 test now by calling your doctor or visiting https://covid19.lacounty.gov/testing/
