- Key updates about COVID-19 vaccines and testing.
- LA County is now offering the Pfizer vaccine to children ages 5-11. Many districts are hosting vaccine clinics. Click here to find a vaccine site near you.
- The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine available for children 5-17.
- Young children get a smaller dose of the vaccine than teens and adults. It is only 1/3 as strong as the vaccine given to people 12 and older.
- COVID-19 vaccines, like other routine childhood vaccinations, are safe and effective for young children. They have gone through the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history.
- Getting a vaccine can be fun for kids. Bring their favorite toy, a stuffed animal, or even a friend! Most LA County sites have games and other exciting activities to make the healthy decision an easy decision.
- Many adults age 18 and older can now get a booster dose at sites across LA County.
- Getting a booster before the holidays is important, especially if you are gathering with other people or traveling.
