  LA County Department of Health Services on Pause of the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine
In response to the CDC and FDA recommendation today, LA County Health Services will immediately pause use of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine for our patients. We will contact Health Services patients with appointments for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and work to accommodate them with either the Moderna or Pfizer two dose vaccines.
If you are a Health Services patient and received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the past three weeks and have developed severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain or shortness of breath, contact your doctor as soon as possible or seek immediate care. People in LA County who don't have a medical provider can call 844-804-0055 to connect with a healthcare provider. Severe adverse reactions to any of the COVID-19 vaccines are extremely rare but should be taken seriously.
We will closely monitor updates from the CDC and FDA on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as the health and safety of our patients is our highest priority.
