Chair Solis to Launch New COVID-19 Vaccination Center in Southeast Los Angeles
Bell, CA – On Monday, March 22 at 10:15 am PST, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis, Supervisor to the First District, in partnership with JWCH Institute Inc., will hold a press conference to launch the soft opening of a new COVID-19 vaccination center for the Southeast Los Angeles communities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Maywood, South Gate, Walnut Park, and Vernon, at the Bell Community Center.
To date, there have been nearly 60,000 COVID-19 confirmed cases across the Southeast Los Angeles communities in the First District and over 820 COVID-19 related deaths. In addition, the region has roughly vaccinated approximately 55 percent of its eligible residents, compared to other areas in the County, many of which have vaccinated in the high 70s to even over 90 percent of its eligible residents. The opening of this center will ensure that residents and workers from the Southeast Los Angeles communities have equitable access to the vaccine.
Everyone is required to wear a mask and practice physical distancing.
