The County of Los Angeles is regularly updating resources on COVID-19 and offers today's update in an effort to keep you and yours informed. Please share the following up-to-date information:
Tighter Safeguards and Restrictions to Curb COVID-19 Spread
 Effective Friday, November 20, Los Angeles County will tighten pandemic safeguards and restrictions as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to increase significantly. These safeguards and restrictions protect the public health and safety of our residents, and their ability to be served in our hospitals.
COVID-19 cases have more than doubled since the beginning of November and hospitalizations have increased from an average of about 900 a day to well over 1,000 a day in same time period.
The first measures, effective this Friday, are:
- For non-essential businesses permitted to operate indoors—including retail stores, offices, personal care services—occupancy will be limited to 25% maximum capacity.
- The number of patrons at outdoor restaurants, breweries and wineries will be limited to 50% max outdoor capacity.
- The number customers at cardrooms, outdoor mini-golf, go-karts and batting cages will be limited to 50% maximum outdoor capacity.
- Services at personal care establishments may only be provided by appointment to customers wearing face coverings by staff wearing face coverings.
- Services that require either the customer or the staff to remove their face covering, such as facials and shaves, are not permitted.
- Food and drinks cannot be served at these establishments to customer.
- Restaurants, breweries, wineries, bars, and all other non-essential retail establishments must close from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Outdoor gatherings remain the only gatherings permitted, and they must only include 15 people maximum who are members of no more than 3 households.
The Health Officer Order will be amended to reflect the above restrictions and can be found on the Department of Public Health's website.

Make A Change, Because #TheRiskIsReal
 Shelby is 29 years old and a COVID-19 survivor. She contracted the virus in April, and, after experiencing headaches, vomiting and dizziness, was hospitalized in May. Today, she wears a heart monitor and continues to worry about the long-term impacts on her health. This is her story.
#TheRiskIsReal and if we continue at the rate of increase in cases and hospitalizations during this current surge, by December 6th daily new cases could reach 4,000 and daily hospitalizations could be between 1,600 and 2,600. This is less that 3 weeks from today.
We should each ask ourselves and those we care about to commit to making those changes that we know prevent a great deal of suffering and death from COVID-19. Change any plans for indoor gatherings that involve people not in your households. Avoid all activities where there will be crowds and where it is hard to maintain a distance of 6 feet from others. Wear face coverings inside and outside if you are with people who are older or who have underlying health conditions. And make sure to follow all the rules at businesses, worksites and retail establishments.

 Working with our nonprofit partner The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, L.A. County agencies have done a remarkable job of providing much-needed support to hungry families during the COVID crisis. L.A. County workers have distributed nearly 3,000 tons of food at more than 50 drive-through events.
That’s a lot of heavy lifting, and thankfully we’ve been assisted by dozens of everyday people like you. A dedicated crew of volunteers is working to make sure that people that need food get food. That’s why we are sending out the call to residents and businesses to roll up their sleeves and help pack and load food boxes at one of our distribution events. COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certification Program
 LA County is helping train businesses on the implementation of COVID-19 safety protocols through a no-cost online training course called the COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certification Program (CSCCP). Once completed, business owners receive a certificate, and window seal to display on their storefront, which can reassure employees and customers alike that the business is following COVID-19 infection control and physical distancing requirements.

Great Plates
 Great Plates Delivered has been extended through December 8th. LA County's meal assistance program offers eligible seniors with three (3) home-delivered meals a day. Seniors over 65, seniors 60-64 years of age who have been diagnosed or exposed to COVID-19 or those at high-risk for COVID-19 may qualify. When you help a senior connect to Great Plates Delivered, you're also helping your local restaurant, hospitality and transportation community get back to work.
