INTERVIEWS AVAILABLE:

 LOS ANGELES COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT EXPERTS AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE WILDFIRE READINESS GUIDANCE DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND DRY CONDITIONS

Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management representatives are available to discuss the heightened need for wildfire preparedness given upcoming wind and fire watch conditions.

Interviews in English and Spanish are available

With strong Santa Ana winds predicted to impact L.A. County starting early Monday morning and an accompanying Red Flag Warning, the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management is offering interviews on what residents can do to best protect themselves and their community in the event of a wildfire. 

Kevin McGowan, Director of the County’s Office of Emergency Management (English speaker) and Mariela Balam, Emergency Manager with the County’s Office of Emergency Management (Spanish speaker) are available for interviews today, Sunday, October 25th via phone or ZOOM, FaceTime or Skype during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Kevin McGowan and Mariela Balam can speak to special evacuation preparedness steps that should be practiced when power outages are anticipated and actions residents can take now to keep safe. They can also speak to how the County’s emergency management infrastructure and systems work together to prepare for fast moving wildfires.
