Supervisor Solis and LA Regional Food Bank Host Food Distribution in El Monte for People Impacted by COVID-19 |

LOS ANGELES, CA – On July 15, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, in collaboration with the LA Regional Food Bank, County Firefighters Local 1014, the office of LA County's Chief Executive Officer, LA County Department of Parks and Recreation, LA County Public Library, the City of El Monte and other organizations, will host a food distribution in the City of El Monte. This drive-thru food pantry will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to end at 1 p.m.
Organizers anticipate reaching up to 4,000 households. Several local volunteers and union members have signed up to hand out boxes of food to families in need, and one of those volunteers will be Supervisor Solis.
Food will be placed into vehicles to allow all participants a chance to practice physical distancing. Everyone must remain in their vehicle and face coverings are required.
Participants must enter northbound on Durfee Avenue from Deana Street. The lineup will begin at 8 a.m. and will be strictly enforced. No walkups allowed.
