TESTING, PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM EXTENDED, LA REGIONAL COVID-19 RECOVERY FUND FOR BUSINESSES, FREE LEGAL SERVICES, AND GREAT PLATES DELIVERED

The County of Los Angeles is regularly updating resources on COVID-19 and offers today's update in an effort to keep you and yours informed. Please share the following up-to-date information:

Time for a COVID-19 Test?

COVID Symptoms

If you're feeling under the weather and think you may be experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, call your primary care provider. COVID-19 symptoms include:

Fever, cough, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and/or new loss of taste or smell.

Wherever possible, you should receive testing in consultation with your healthcare provider to ensure continuity of care & optimal follow-up. If you do not have insurance & need help connecting to a healthcare provider, dial 2-1-1.

Extended: Paycheck Protection Program for Businessess

Over the weekend, the federal government extended the deadline for businesses to apply for aid under the Paycheck Protection Program.

Businesses now have until August 8 to apply for a loan through the Paycheck Protection program.

Apply Today for the LA Regional COVID-19 Recovery Fund

COVID-19 Regional Recovery Fund

LA County, the City of Los Angeles, and numerous philanthropic partners have established the LA Regional COVID-19 Recovery Fund for small businesses, non-profits and micro-entrepreneurs facing unprecedented economic challenges due to COVID-19.

The LA Regional COVID-19 Recovery Fund aims to distribute:

1) $5,000 grants to micro-entrepreneurs; and

2) $15,000 grants to non-profits and small businesses. Grants will be distributed through an equitable lottery system, to ensure equitable access to capital across various demographics in the Los Angeles region.

New User-Friendly DPSS Website  * Link Corrected *

The Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) launched a new website, last week, to provide LA County residents with information on DPSS programs and services.

The new website ensures a greater user experience. Improvements include increased visibility, accessibility and look and feel of the site. And now, it's mobile device friendly!

Do You Know a Senior in Need of Free Meal Assistance? 

If you know a senior in need of meal assistance, it's not too late for them to apply for LA County's Great Plates Delivered Program.

Through Great Plates Delivered, LA County is providing three (3) home-delivered meals a day to qualifying older adults & adults over 60 who are at high-risk for COVID-19. This effort is not only assisting LA County seniors, but it is also helping LA County's local restaurant, hospitality and transportation community get back to work.

SMTK Restaurant Dining

To slow the spread of #COVID19, restaurants are prohibited from offering indoor dining, effective July 1 until further notice. Outdoor dining, delivery and take-out are still permitted.
