COVID-19 FACT #4, DOING YOUR PART, AND FREE MEALS FOR SENIORS

The County of Los Angeles is regularly updating resources on COVID-19 and offers today's update in an effort to keep you and yours informed. Please share the following up-to-date information:

COVID-19 Fact #4

Don't let misconceptions about COVID-19 hinder LA County's ability to prevent future spread. Know the facts, so you and your community can stay safe:

COVID-19 Fact #4

COVID-19

Fact #4:

COVID-19 is NOT the flu.

The differences?

The risk of dying from COVID-19 is much higher than that of the flu:

  • COVID-19: approximately 15,000/week "counted deaths" during mid-April.
  • Flu: approx. 750/week "counted deaths" during typical influenza "peak week."

We don't know much about COVID-19 including patterns, symptoms, and even long term health effects on many who survive...

Doing Your Part to Limit the Spread of COVID-19?

Doing Your Part?

Help keep LA County on the Road to Recovery by doing your part to limit the spread of COVID-19. It only takes one person to spread COVID-19 to everyone you live with.

Avoid gathering with others you don't live with, to protect everyone you DO live with. And remember:

  1. Wear your face covering.
  2. Stay at least 6 ft apart from anyone outside of your household.
  3. Wash your hands frequently.
