LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis will highlight the need to enhance mental health services for immigrant communities impacted by COVID-19.
Supervisor Solis will be joined by Jorge Partida of L.A. County’s Department of Mental Health and Cynthia Telles, director of UCLA’s Hispanic Neuropsychiatric Center of Excellence. Partida and Telles will speak of their innovative work partnering with community clinics, health centers, and churches to serve marginalized communities of color to bolster the mental health of bilingual Latinos impacted by the pandemic. Univision reporter Oswaldo Borraez will moderate this virtual press conference.
At Tuesday’s virtual meeting of the L.A. County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Solis will introduce a Board motion directing pertinent County Departments to enhance mental health programs and services for immigrant communities affected by the crisis.
