The County of Los Angeles is regularly updating resources on COVID-19 and offers today's update in an effort to keep you and yours informed. Please share the following up-to-date information:
Great Plates Delivered Has Been Extended
LA County's Great Plates Delivered program has been extended through Friday, July 10th.
This program provides (3) free home-delivered meals a day from local restaurants to qualifying older adults and adults over 60 who are at high-risk of COVID-19. Great Plates Delivered not only helps LA County's most vulnerable residents, but helps get local restaurants, hospitality, and transportation industries back to work. To date, this program has provided 140,000 meals to 2,000 clients across LA County.
Eligibility
If you or a loved one are unsure about whether you qualify, LA County's Workforce Development, Aging, and Community Services (WDACS) prepared the following video for you. To watch in Spanish, click here.
Eligible individuals:
- must meet age requirements: 1) are 65 or older or 2) are 60-64 and have been diagnosed with, exposed to or at high risk of COVID-19 as defined by the CDC.
- are unable to prepare or obtain meals
- are not currently receiving assistance from other state or federal nutrition assistance programs such as CalFresh/SNAP
- must live alone or with one other program-eligible adult
- must earn between $25,520 to $74,940 (single household) or between $34,380 to $101,460 (two-person household) per year
- must live in unincorporated LA County or a city that does not offer its own Great Plates Delivered program
Cities Offering Great Plates Delivered
Certain cities within LA County have chosen to operate their own Great Plates Delivered program. If you reside in any of the following cities, you will not be eligible for LA County's Great Plates Delivered program & must contact your city directly to enroll:

COVID-19 Testing is Available. Get Tested.
LA County takes this opportunity to remind residents that COVID-19 testing is available. We strongly encourage all LA County residents who are interested in being tested to first contact their Primary Care Provider or Healthcare Center about receiving a test at their facility. If you do not have access to this care or are unable to contact them, free testing is available across the County.
Currently, priority is given to those within either of the following categories:
- Symptomatic persons with the following symptoms: Fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell
- Asymptomatic persons: 1) Persons over age 65; 2) Those with a chronic medical conditions, or 3) Essential workers (in janitorial, security, airport, government, health care, and food & grocery groups. View a complete list of the essential workers group here.)
- Symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals in congregate institutional settings.
If you're unsure about your symptoms, and don't have a primary care provider, contact our COVID-19 Nurse Advice Line at (844) 804-0055. This free service is provided by LA County's Department of Health Services (DHS) and is available 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
