WHAT:
The Civilian Oversight Commission for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department invites the public to meet leadership from the Commission and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. This town hall provides a public forum where L.A. County residents are encouraged to address commission members and law enforcement leaders to share their thoughts on public safety and their experiences with the Sheriff's Department.
Various L.A. County departments will host resource booths with information on community services. These include:
- Mental Evaluation Teams (Mental Health & Sheriff)
- Immigrant Affairs
- Project Lifesaver/LA Found (Sheriff)
- Mental Health, Consumer & Family Affairs
- Public Social Services
- Child Support Services
- Fire Department
- Sheriff's Department
As the Commission works to boost transparency and accountability, community input is vital to the ongoing analysis of the Sheriff department’s policies, practices, procedures. The thoughts and views of L.A. County residents are paramount in the Commission’s efforts, and community feedback may provide direction on issues the commission evaluates.
