Staff at Los Padrinos and Central Juvenile Hall Help Parenting Youth During Holiday Season

Toy Drive

In celebration of the holiday season, L.A. County Probation is sharing holiday cheer and good deeds from staff and offices countywide.

The staff at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall (LPJH) and Central Juvenile Hall (CJH) are keeping the holiday cheer alive by coordinating a Christmas Toy Drive as part of the Baby and Me program. They hope to bring a smile to a loving child by giving a parenting youth in custody a toy to gift to their child for Christmas. Staff are working hard to make wishes come true by collecting unwrapped new toy donations for children ages 0 to 10 years old such as puzzles, books, board games, and gift cards.

The Family Resource Center at LPJH, in collaboration with Behavioral Management Program and LA County Public Library, will be hosting their 10th Annual Baby and Me Christmas Event on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

The Baby and Me Program, in collaboration with the L.A. County Library, provides teen parent educational services throughout the year for minors who are parents. During the holiday season the Family Resource Center collects toys - most of which come from the staff - and the minors are able to select gifts for their child, wrap them themselves and give them to their child during a special holiday visit.

To make the event more special CJH is also busy working to provide 20 families with a holiday food baskets.

Experience the joy of giving by helping the children of youth in custody. To donate please contact the LPJH Family Resource Center at (562) 940-8287 or email DSO Mabel Monge at Mabel.Monge@probation.lacounty.gov.
