Election Day!

Special General Election Day

Attention Kern County voters residing in the 20th Congressional District! Don't forget about the upcoming Special General Election on May 21st between Vince Fong and Mike Boudreaux to replace Kevin McCarthy’s vacancy in Congress. If you received a vote-by-mail ballot, be sure to return it in the mail postmarked on or before election day. For those voters who prefer to vote in person, you can cast your ballot at poll sites on May 21st from 7 am to 8 pm. You can also conveniently drop off your completed ballot at any ballot drop box in Kern County. Adopt-a-Poll Program

The Kern County Elections Division is excited to invite you to consider joining the Adopt-A-Poll program, offering your organization a chance to actively participate in democracy. Through this initiative, organizations can partner with Kern County Elections to empower dedicated team members as election workers. These workers receive stipends for their service to the community. While the Elections Division determines site assignments, requests for specific locations are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Participating organizations will receive a certificate of participation in the electoral process and public acknowledgment. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information, and we look forward to your organization's involvement in the upcoming elections!

Attention all civic-minded residents in Kern County! As we prepare for the critical May 21st and November 5th elections, we are seeking dedicated poll workers to uphold the integrity of our democratic process. Serving as a poll worker is essential for ensuring smooth elections. If you are interested in democracy, committed to upholding its principles, and available on these election dates, we invite you to join our team. Poll workers will receive a stipend. Raising America 

Student Election Worker

Do you know any schools, teachers, classes, or ASB Clubs interested in promoting student involvement as election workers? Student election workers play a crucial role in serving their community, understanding the voting process and the significance of voting. To qualify, students must be high schoolers aged 16 or above, with a minimum GPA of 2.5, U.S. citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency, and permission from parents/guardians and school administration. Benefits include hands-on experience with the democratic process, community service hours, a chance to foster lifelong voting habits, enhancement of college and scholarship applications, and a payment of $160. Duties involve attending mandatory training, arranging transportation to and from the poll site, serving from 6 AM to approximately 9:30 PM on Election Day, assisting with setup, facilitating voting, and assisting with poll closure and ballot preparation. For more information on our student election worker program, click here!
