Provide Input on the Yale Avenue Enhancement Project

Stop by our Community Pop-Up Workshop to learn about the Yale Avenue Enhancement project, which is focused on enhancing safety, accessibility, and mobility along Yale Avenue north of the I-405 Freeway, including Yale Loop. The project will evaluate opportunities to implement potential improvements such as protected bikeways or separated bikeways, pedestrian crossings, traffic control devices, protected intersections, and other features that support all users.

The event will take place on the west side of Yale Avenue.

Temporary Lane Closures Along Portola Parkway

The City will be conducting underground infrastructure improvements beneath Portola Parkway to support the future Gateway Village community. Construction will take place at the eastern end of Ovation, within the cul-de-sac adjacent to Portola Parkway, south of Jeffrey Road.

Work will occur weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting Wednesday, November 18, with temporary lane closures along Portola Parkway between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Quail Hill Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation and Slurry Seal

The City of Irvine began street rehabilitation and slurry seal on arterial and residential streets in the Quail Hill neighborhood Monday, November 2. Work will occur weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. 

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes during construction.

Orchard Hills Drive Street Rehabilitation and Slurry Seal

The City of Irvine is performing roadwork as part of the Street Rehabilitation Program on Orchard Hills Drive from Furrow to New Point in the Orchard Hills neighborhood. Work will occur weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Monday, November 30, weather permitting.

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes during construction.

Jamboree Road and Main Street Intersection Enhancements

The Jamboree Road and Main Street Intersection project is underway with work occurring weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

The project, which will continue through winter, will widen and enhance the intersection and reduce traffic congestion on Jamboree Road and Main Street. Specific improvements include lengthening left turn lanes, removing islands at southwest and southeast corners, modifying the traffic signal system, implementing drainage, water quality, and street lighting upgrades, as well as installing Class II bike lanes.

State Route 55 MacArthur Boulevard Road Closure

Orange County Transportation Authority crews are performing asphalt work on MacArthur Boulevard, which will require closing eastbound and westbound MacArthur underneath the freeway Wednesday, November 4, at 9 p.m. to Thursday, November 5, at 5 a.m.

This work is part of the Orange County Transportation Authority's SR-55 Improvement project. Please visit octa.net/55Construction for more information.  

I-5 Improvement Project Updates

The Orange County Transportation Authority, in partnership with the California Department of Transportation, is improving the I-5 Freeway from the I-405 Freeway to State Route 55.

This project is designed to improve traffic operations and enhance safety. As construction continues, drivers may encounter changing traffic patterns, lane and ramp closures, construction signage, and other temporary impacts. State Route 133 Closure

Southbound State Route 133 between the I-5 Freeway and Great Park Boulevard will be closed through Thursday, November 5, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

State Route 241 Closure

The Portola Parkway on-ramp to southbound State Route 241 will be closed Thursday, November 5, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday, November 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
