Experience the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Great Park
Enjoy culture and community at the sixth annual Mid-Autumn Festival from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex.
Hosted by the City of Irvine in partnership with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, this free, family-friendly celebration will feature more than a dozen music and dance performances, culinary demonstrations, children’s activities, mahjong, Chinese paper cutting, night market games, and more than 20 food vendors.
Also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates unity, gratitude, and prosperity through traditions observed across many Asian cultures.
Admission to the Mid-Autumn Festival and parking are free. The event will take place in the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex and surrounding area. View a map of the park.

Enjoy fitness demonstrations, health screenings, free flu shots, educational presentations, and wellness exhibitors. Admission and parking are free, and no registration is required.
TRIPS is offering free transportation for Irvine residents ages 50 and older. Call 949-724-7433 through September 24 to reserve a ride. Space is limited.

Meet the Stars of the 2027 Irvine Animal Care Center Wall Calendar

The 2027 Irvine Animal Care Center Wall Calendar features winning photos from this year’s Photo Fundraiser — and it’s available to order through October 14. Each calendar costs $16, plus $4 for shipping, and orders will be mailed in November.
Proceeds support the center’s Special Programs, which provide shelter, food, and medical care for animals in need.

Get Involved: Serve on a City Advisory Committee

The City of Irvine is accepting applications for volunteer positions on two advisory committees. Share your perspective and help inform City programs and services.
Health & Wellness Advisory Committee: One member-at-large position is available. The committee advises the City Council on health and wellness initiatives and meets quarterly on Mondays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Applicants must be willing to serve a two-year term from February 2027 through January 2029. Apply online by 5 p.m. Monday, October 5.
Irvine Sports Advisory Committee: Two members-at-large positions are available. Members provide input on youth sports policies, programs, facilities, and community needs. Applicants must live in Irvine and be willing to serve a two-year term. The committee meets quarterly on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at Quail Hill Community Center. Apply online by 5 p.m. Monday, October 12.

Rise Against with Alkaline Trio
Experience an evening of live music Friday, October 23, as Rise Against takes the stage at Great Park Live with Alkaline Trio and Teen Mortgage. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to all ages.
Guided by its belief that music is a collective experience, Rise Against continues to bring people together through music and creativity. Fans from across its 25-year history helped shape artwork for the band’s latest music video releases, “Damage Is Done” and “Ricochet.”

September 25: Chuseok
Chuseok, a Korean harvest festival, falls on Friday, September 25. It is a time for families to gather, honor their ancestors, and give thanks for the harvest. Traditions include sharing seasonal foods such as songpyeon (filled rice cakes), wearing hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), and enjoying folk games and performances.
