Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Great Park
Enjoy culture and community at the sixth annual Mid-Autumn Festival from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex.
Hosted by the City of Irvine in partnership with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, this free, family-friendly celebration will feature more than a dozen music and dance performances, culinary demonstrations, children’s activities, mahjong, Chinese paper cutting, night market games, and more than 20 food vendors.
Also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates unity, gratitude, and prosperity through traditions observed across many Asian cultures.
Admission and parking are free.

The two-day event includes networking, a keynote presentation, breakout sessions, practical resources, and opportunities to strengthen partnerships.

Irvine Named Orange County’s Best City to Live

Irvine has once again been named the best city to live in Orange County by readers of the Orange County Register.
The annual Best of Orange County program recognizes readers’ favorite places to live, shop, dine, play, and do business. Irvine earned the top spot for its nationally recognized parks, diverse recreational opportunities, award-winning schools, commitment to public safety, and exceptional quality of life.
The Register also highlighted the continued development of the Great Park, the City’s efforts to expand housing and open space, and its commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the community.
This recognition reflects the people, programs, and places that make Irvine a remarkable community to call home.

High school students, including incoming ninth-graders, can tour Southern California universities during the IUSD non-school day Monday, October 12. Each $59 trip includes transportation, supervision, student-led campus tours, an admissions discussion, and informational materials.

Live Well at the Healthy Living Expo

Explore ways to support your well-being at the Healthy Living Expo from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, September 25, at Lakeview Senior Center.
Enjoy fitness demonstrations, health screenings, free flu shots, educational presentations, and wellness exhibitors. Admission and parking are free, and no registration is required.
TRIPS is offering free transportation for Irvine residents ages 50 and older. Call 949-724-7433 from September 14 to 24 to reserve a ride. Space is limited.

Zumba Kids (Tiny Stars)
Ages 1–3 | Class starts September 24 Get ready to wiggle, groove, and move to music in a fun-filled class designed for little dancers. Kids will build coordination, confidence, and a love of movement while dancing along to upbeat rhythms.

Stop Motion Animation
Ages 5–12 | Class starts September 25 Turn everyday objects, characters, and creative ideas into an animated adventure. Young filmmakers will learn the basics of stop-motion animation and create their own moving stories one frame at a time.

Parking Impacts at the Great Park
The Great Park will welcome athletes for the 2026 Woodbridge Cross Country Classic Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19. Races begin at 5 p.m. Friday and continue through Saturday evening.
Great Park amenities will remain open; however, visitors not attending the event are strongly encouraged to avoid the park during this time.
Regular public parking will resume Sunday, September 20. We wish all participating athletes a successful meet. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
