Plan your next special event at Bommer Canyon Preserve Cattle Camp. Nestled in Irvine’s wildlands, the newly renovated venue combines rustic charm with modern amenities, including a covered stage, banquet-style picnic seating, a staging kitchen, and ADA-accessible pathways.
The scenic 15-acre space provides a unique setting for weddings, family reunions, company retreats, parties, and more.

Make a Splash at the End of Summer

Close out summer with swimming and a movie at the annual Splash-In Movie & Recreation Swim Saturday, August 29, at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center.
The pool opens at 6:30 p.m., followed by an outdoor screening of The Lorax at 7:15 p.m. Enjoy recreation swimming, diving boards, a water slide, and an in-water obstacle course.
Families can also exchange non-approved flotation devices for a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket for children ages 6 and younger, while supplies last.
Admission is $2.50 per child and $5 per adult.

Festival Notice for Great Park Neighborhood Residents

Daisy Chain Fields, a new music festival founded by Olivia Rodrigo, will take place Saturday, August 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Great Park.
Great Park Neighborhood residents may notice event setup beginning Sunday, August 23, including temporary structures, staging, fencing, equipment deliveries, and increased activity.
Event breakdown will continue through Wednesday, September 2.
Lane and street closures will be in place during the festival. Dash Passes will be available for residents who need access to Resident Access Only streets August 29. Passes provide access through traffic barricades but do not provide parking.

The school day is back in session, and City of Irvine after-school programs are ready to help with what comes after the final bell. With options at six community center locations, find programs designed to provide care, enrichment, and engaging activities for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade.
Kids Club | Kindergarten–Sixth Grade
A great fit for busy school-day schedules.
Kids Club gives children a place to play, create, and connect with fun activities and experiences, all operated by City of Irvine staff.
Hours: School dismissal to 5:30 p.m.
Drop-off: Beginning at 2 p.m.
Kindy Cove | Kindergarten
Need a little extra care after Kindergarten?
Kindy Cove offers hands-on enrichment, games, crafts, and more for kindergartners who need additional after-school care.
Hours: School dismissal to 2:30 p.m.
Drop-off: Beginning at 11 a.m.
The Hub | 4th–6th Grade
A new after-school option for older elementary students.
Located at Heritage Park Community Center, The Hub gives fourth through sixth graders a place to spend their afternoons with educational, social, and recreational activities.

Pacific Symphony's SummerFest Presents The Music of ABBA
Relive the music of one of the world's most iconic pop groups Saturday, August 22, as Arrival from Sweden joins the Pacific Symphony for The Music of ABBA during SummerFest 2026 at Great Park Live.
Sing along to favorites like "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia," "Super Trouper," and "Money, Money, Money" as Arrival from Sweden recreates the magic of ABBA with dazzling costumes, electrifying performances, and the full sound of the Pacific Symphony under the direction of conductor Evan Roider.
