Field of Valor Returns to Irvine Civic Center
Honor those who have served during the annual Field of Valor — America 250 display, presented by the City of Irvine in partnership with the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee. The patriotic display will feature 250 American flags on the Irvine Civic Center Lawn July 1–31.
Community members can sponsor a flag in honor of a veteran, active-duty service member, or fallen hero through Wednesday, June 24. Each sponsored flag is displayed on a 10-foot pole and illuminated throughout the event. Sponsorships are $65 and support the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee, which assists Marines and Sailors of the 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton.

Ride Irvine CONNECT to Laguna Beach This Summer
Planning a beach day? Irvine CONNECT riders can easily connect to the Summer Breeze trolley for free service to Laguna Beach all summer long.
Summer Breeze trolley service operates every 30 minutes, departing Irvine at :00 and :30 each hour. Through June 25, service runs Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. with extended summer hours beginning June 26. The trolley stop is located at 16355 Laguna Canyon Road.
The Irvine CONNECT stops closest to the Summer Breeze connection are located on Alton Parkway, just east and west of Laguna Canyon Road. Riders should allow extra time for transfers, including a short 5–8 minute walk between services.

Men's Health Wellness Script Workshop

Learn about men’s health and healthy aging at a free Wellness Script Workshop Friday, June 26, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Irvine Civic Center Conference and Training Center. Hosted by the City of Irvine Office of Health & Wellness in partnership with UCI Health, the workshop will focus on bladder, prostate, and testicular health, prevention, the importance of regular screenings, and healthy lifestyle practices that support overall wellness and longevity. The session will feature expert insights from Dr. David Lee, Professor of Clinical Urology at the University of California, Irvine, and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Urology. Family members, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about men’s health are welcome. Registration is required. |

New Bike Share Program Expands Mobility Options

The City of Irvine celebrated the launch of its new Bike Share Pilot Program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community bike ride. In partnership with Drop Mobility, the pilot features 20 pedal-assist bicycles available at docking stations located at the Irvine Civic Center and University Town Center.The program supports the City’s commitment to sustainability, connectivity, and transportation options for residents, students, and visitors. Riders can choose from monthly, annual, or pay-as-you-go plans.

Plant It Forward: Residential Tree Giveaway

Help grow Irvine’s urban forest through the City’s Plant It Forward initiative. As Irvine works toward 30% tree canopy coverage by 2055, residents can play an important role by planting trees on their property.
Through the Residential Tree Giveaway Program, offered in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Irvine residents can receive free, climate-appropriate trees along with planting and care guidance. The program helps expand neighborhood tree canopy, enhance environmental benefits, and create a greener, more resilient Irvine.

Artsy Cooking Camp
Ages 5–12 | Starts July 20 A creative mix of culinary exploration and visual arts, this camp invites students to experiment in the kitchen while also engaging in hands-on art projects. Each day features a new recipe that participants prepare and enjoy, paired with an art activity inspired by the day’s theme or ingredients. While dishes cook or cool, campers work with a variety of materials to create imaginative projects.

Cheernastics Camp
Ages 6–12 | Starts July 6 A high-energy blend of cheerleading, gymnastics, and movement fundamentals, this camp introduces participants to basic stunts, jumps, tumbling progressions, and rhythm-based routines. Campers build strength, coordination, and confidence while learning short choreographed sequences in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Music Band Camp
Ages 7–12 | Starts July 13 Designed for emerging musicians, this camp offers hands-on experience in ensemble playing, rhythm development, and group performance. Students collaborate across instruments to rehearse and refine a setlist while learning the essentials of timing, listening, and stage readiness.

GAME! Exhibition: Solo Piano Performance
Saturday, June 27 | 11 a.m.–1 p.m. | Great Park Gallery A live solo piano performance will accompany the Great Park Gallery exhibition, Game! Basketball and Contemporary Art, offering a musical backdrop designed to complement the experience of moving through the exhibition. Rather than a formal seated concert, this performance is intended as an atmospheric element that visitors may engage with passively while viewing the exhibition. Blending minimal composition and improvisation, the music responds to the themes, textures, and pacing of the surrounding artworks, creating a subtle dialogue between sound and space.
This is a passive performance to accompany exhibition viewing. Seating will not be provided.
Admission is free, and no registration is required. Great Park Gallery is located at 8000 Great Park Blvd.

June 19: Juneteenth
Juneteenth dates back to June 19, 1865, and is the oldest known annual observance commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth became a celebration of freedom and achievement, gathering family and communities with food, entertainment, spiritual and religious ceremonies, and cultural storytelling. Today, Juneteenth takes on a symbol of pride in African American experiences and ancestral roots that is recognized annually across the country.
Join BIPOC OC for the inaugural Juneteenth Freedom Celebration Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Great Park Palm Court Complex. This free community event will celebrate freedom, hope, and joy while highlighting the history, culture, and contributions of African Americans through live performances, interactive activities, educational exhibits, and local community organizations.
