Traffic Signal Shutdown at Main Street and West Yale Loop
The traffic signal pole at Main Street and West Yale Loop will be replaced Monday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. While the signal is not in operation, please treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes when possible.

Great Park Traffic Advisory
The City is anticipating increased traffic around the Great Park Monday, June 8, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to a closed special event. If you will be traveling through the area, please allow additional time to reach your destination.
Opt in to receive traffic-related updates by texting GREATPARK to 888777. The system will only be used to communicate critical information. Standard text messaging rates apply.
Due to anticipated traffic impacts, community members who do not need to visit the Great Park are encouraged to avoid the area during this time.
University Bike Trail Closure
Orange County Public Works will be clearing debris from the flood channel adjacent to the University Bike Trail between University Drive and the Jeffrey pedestrian bridge, beginning Thursday, June 4. The project is expected to be completed within five days, and the trail will be closed while work is underway.
Walnut Avenue Closure
Walnut Avenue south of Jeffrey Road will be closed Friday, June 5, from 11 p.m. to Saturday, June 6, at 5 a.m. so that truss railings can be installed on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge.
Additionally, there will be no access to the southbound I-5 Freeway on-and off-ramps or Caltrans Park & Ride during the overnight closures. Access to area residences and businesses will be maintained.
When completed, the bridge will connect the JOST/Cypress Village Trail to the north and the JOST extension to the south. The bridge is expected to be completed in August. To learn more, visit cityofirvine.gov/jostextension.
Orchard Hills Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation
As part of the Street Rehabilitation Program, the City is performing pavement rehabilitation on residential streets in the Orchard Hills Neighborhood. The project includes:
- Pavement rehabilitation on Culver Drive and Forge, north of Portola Parkway.
- Slurry seal on Orchard Hills Drive.
- The addition of a Class IV Protected Bike Lane on Culver Drive and Orchard Hills Drive.
This project also includes utility coordination with the Irvine Ranch Water District.
Work occurs Monday though Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will continue through August.
Access to businesses and private streets/communities will be maintained during the project, however, access to streets and driveways may be temporarily restricted while work is underway. Neighborhood parking may also be limited during construction activities; vehicles must be parked outside the posted work areas until construction is complete and signage is removed.

Jamboree & Michelson Pedestrian Bridge Lane Closure
The next phase of the Jamboree & Michelson Pedestrian Bridge project is underway as crews begin building the bridge foundation and elevator tower walls. This work requires the closure of the dedicated right turn lane from westbound Michelson Drive to northbound Jamboree Road.
A new traffic pattern allows vehicles to make a right turn via a dedicated right-turn lane. Revised striping and signage is in place to direct motorists.
Work occurs weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Jamboree & Michelson Pedestrian Bridge aims to improve pedestrian safety, ease traffic congestion, and serve as a gateway monument for anyone entering the Irvine Business Complex. It is expected to be completed in July 2027.

Harvard Avenue & Michelson Drive Intersection Improvements
One eastbound and westbound lane on Michelson Drive at Harvard Avenue is closed as work continues on the Harvard Avenue and Michelson Drive Intersection Improvements project.
Phase 3 is underway and will continue through September. Work occurs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This intersection widening project will enhance traffic flow through the intersection and improve signal timing coordination along the Harvard Avenue and Michelson Drive corridors.
The City is removing and replacing asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, curb ramps and, sidewalk, as well as modifying traffic signal equipment behind temporary traffic control delineators and permanent K-rail lane closures. The project is anticipated to be completed this fall.

College Park and Colony Park Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation
As part of the Street Rehabilitation Program, the City is performing pavement rehabilitation on local and residential streets in the College Park and Colony Park neighborhoods.
Work occurs weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on arterial streets through June.

Jamboree Road and Main Street Intersection Enhancements
The Jamboree Road and Main Street intersection project is underway with work occurring weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The project, which will continue through winter, will widen and enhance the intersection and reduce traffic congestion on Jamboree Road and Main Street. Specific improvements include lengthening left turn lanes, removing islands at southwest and southeast corners, modifying the traffic signal system, implementing drainage, water quality, and street lighting upgrades, and installing Class II bike lanes.

Woodbury Neighborhood Improvements
There are two projects underway aimed at improving streets and sidewalks in the Woodbury neighborhood.
Sidewalk, curb ramp, and miscellaneous concrete and accessibility improvements are underway weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on arterial streets through June. View the construction notice and map.
In addition, pavement rehabilitation through the Slurry Seal Project occurs weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until August. View the construction notice and map.

I-5 Improvement Project Construction Impacts
The Orange County Transportation Authority, in partnership with Caltrans, is improving the I-5 Freeway between the I-405 Freeway and State Route 55 to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and improve travel.
Construction activities continue under the bridges at Jamboree Road and the I-5 Freeway and State Route 261 (SR-261) and the I-5 for bridge widening, including cast-in-drilled-hole and pile driving to widen structures as part of overall project improvements.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Jamboree Road/I-5: Ongoing through early July during daytime and nighttime shifts.
- SR-261/I-5: Ongoing through late June during daytime and nighttime shifts.
Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Crews have installed concrete barriers and closed the lanes nearest to the median on Jamboree Road at the I-5 bridge in both directions. At least one lane in each direction will remain open to traffic at all times unless otherwise noted.
There will also be intermittent nighttime full street closures for eastbound and westbound Jamboree Road at I-5.
In addition, daytime construction activities are expected to take place at the I-5/Peters Canyon Hiking and Riding Trail Bridge for cast-in-drilled-hole work beginning mid-June. Intermittent full closures of the Peters Canyon Hiking and Riding Trail at I-5 are expected to be in place through late 2026 to move equipment into the construction area.

State Route 133 Closures
The southbound State Route 133 connector to southbound I-405 Freeway will be fully closed through Thursday, June 4, from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, June 5, from 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m.
