2026 Pride in Irvine
In honor of Harvey Milk Day and June Pride Month, the City of Irvine will host the fifth annual Pride in Irvine event Friday, May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center Piazza, 1 Civic Center Plaza. Community members are invited to join the City as the Progress Flag is raised in front of City Hall in recognition and support of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The event will feature refreshments, family-friendly activities, educational opportunities, and resources provided by local advocacy and support organizations. Attendees can connect with community groups, learn about available services, and celebrate Pride in Irvine.
The Progress Flag will fly at the Irvine Civic Center from May 22 through June 30 in recognition of Pride Month and significant milestones in LGBTQ+ history and civil rights.

Health & Wellness Community Support Programs
The City of Irvine offers a variety of Health & Wellness programs designed to support residents’ well-being through educational workshops, community resources, and assistance programs. Residents can explore services and upcoming events offered in partnership with organizations, including UCI Health, Love Irvine, and the Community Health Initiative of Orange County, on the Community Support Programs webpage.
Upcoming events include the Health Care Wishes event Tuesday, May 12, offering free notary services for Advanced Health Care Directives; the monthly Food Box Distribution Thursday, May 14, at the Great Park; and the Bone Density and Fall Prevention Lecture Friday, May 15, focused on healthy aging and fall prevention strategies.

GAME! Basketball and Contemporary Art Exhibition

GAME! Basketball and Contemporary Art opens Sunday, May 17, at Great Park Gallery, exploring the connection between basketball, art, and culture. A free opening reception will be held May 17, from 1 to 3 p.m., featuring a hands-on Mini Hoops art activity for all ages. The exhibition includes large-scale court designs by Project Backboard and highlights how the game inspires creativity and community.
Admission and parking are free.

Splash In Safety Movie Night

Make a splash Saturday, May 9, 5:30 p.m., at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, 4601 Walnut Ave. Enjoy a recreation swim movie night with swimming, inflatable obstacle courses, and diving board fun.
Relax poolside or float while watching The Parent Trap on the big screen.
Stop by the Water Safety Booth for tips on staying safe in and around the water. Families can also exchange non–Coast Guard-approved flotation devices for a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jacket at no cost.
Admission is $5 per adult and $2.50 per child. Payment accepted at the pool.

Support Irvine's Tree Canopy: Arbor Day Foundation Tree Giveaway + Sponsor a Tree Program

The City of Irvine has launched two new programs to support a greener future and help expand the City’s urban forest. In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the Residential Tree Giveaway program provides Irvine residents with free, climate-appropriate trees to plant at home, along with planting and care guidance.
Residents, families, and organizations can also participate in the Sponsor a Tree program, which supports tree planting in parks and public spaces while honoring a loved one or celebrating a special occasion.

Campus Drive Complete Streets & Safety Study: Public Kickoff Workshop

The City of Irvine will host the Campus Drive Complete Streets & Safety Study Public Kickoff Workshop Wednesday, May 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., to gather community input on ways to improve safety and mobility along Campus Drive between University Drive and Turtle Rock Drive.
The study will evaluate potential roadway enhancements for pedestrians, bicyclists, micromobility users, transit riders, and drivers along a corridor that experiences high levels of activity. Community members are encouraged to attend and provide input on opportunities for future improvements.

Irvine Nights: Swift Nation 2026
Saturday, May 9, doors open at 6 p.m.
Enjoy a night of Taylor Swift’s biggest hits as Swift Nation returns to Great Park Live. This all-ages tribute show takes audiences on a musical journey through every era of Taylor Swift’s career, featuring a live band and sing-along favorites. Free parking is available.

Kids Zone inflatable wristbands are available for purchase and include unlimited access to inflatables and one round of mini golf. Adirondack chair and locker rentals will be available for purchase onsite.
