Traffic Signal Shutdown at Alton Parkway and San Marino
The traffic signal at Alton Parkway and San Marino will be turned off or placed in red flash mode from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 27, as part of a regional traffic signal synchronization project.
Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes when possible.
Shady Canyon Bike Trail Closure
Sections of Shady Canyon Trail will be closed Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 8, while work occurs to create a smoother, safer trail.
The paved trail will undergo a 2-inch grind and asphalt overlay to address cracking and improve the overall quality of the trail. While work is underway, both the paved and unpaved trails will be closed, and the closures will be in effect 24 hours a day. We appreciate your patience as we make these important upgrades.
South Yale Corridor Improvements Project Community Meeting
The City of Irvine will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at University Community Center to provide an update on the South Yale Corridor Improvements project and invite community feedback.
The project aims to reconfigure the roadway to accommodate Class IV separated bikeways on Yale Avenue between the I-405 Freeway and University Drive. It will enhance safety and connectivity for people who walk, bike, drive, and take transit, and improve connections among City of Irvine bike trails.

College Park and Colony Park Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation
As part of the Street Rehabilitation Program, the City is performing pavement rehabilitation on local and residential streets in the College Park and Colony Park neighborhoods.
Work occurs weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on arterial streets through June.
Every effort will be made to complete the project efficiently and minimize disruption to the community. Please note that access to streets and driveways may be temporarily restricted while work is underway. Parking within the neighborhoods may also be limited during construction activities; vehicles must be parked outside the posted work areas until construction is complete and signage is removed. Access to businesses and private streets or communities will be maintained throughout the project.

Jeffrey Open Space Trail Extension Impacts Jeffrey Road
Work is underway on the first phase of the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) extension between Smoketree and Walnut Avenue. This phase of the project requires lane closures northbound on Jeffrey Road weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Access to area residences and businesses is being maintained, and detour signage is in place to direct motorists and pedestrians.
The JOST extension will connect to the Jeffrey Open Space Trail Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge being built over the I-5 Freeway and Walnut Avenue. The bridge project and trail extension are anticipated to be completed this summer. Learn more about the JOST Bridge.
Jamboree Road and Main Street Intersection Enhancements
The Jamboree Road and Main Street intersection project is underway with work occurring weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The project, which will continue through winter, will widen and enhance the intersection and reduce traffic congestion on Jamboree Road and Main Street. Specific improvements include lengthening left turn lanes, removing islands at southwest and southeast corners, modifying the traffic signal system, implementing drainage, water quality, and street lighting upgrades, and installing Class II bike lanes.

Woodbury Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation
Sidewalk, curb ramp, and miscellaneous concrete and accessibility improvements are underway on both arterial and local streets throughout the Woodbury neighborhood as part of the Street Rehabilitation Program.

Marine Way Extension and Undercrossing Project
Crews are forming the Marine Way box’s exterior and interior walls with reinforcing steel to prepare for an upcoming concrete pour April 28.
They’re also finishing the directional drilling for utility lines to be lowered below the new underpass.

Northbound State Route 55 Dyer Road On-Ramp Extended Closure
Orange County Transportation Authority crews are reconstructing the northbound State Route 55 (SR-55) Dyer Road straight on-ramp, which requires an extended closure of the on-ramp through Friday, May 1, at 5 a.m.
In addition, crews are performing paving work to northbound Dyer Road loop on-ramp as well as the northbound SR-55 outside lanes between Dyer Road and Warner Avenue, Friday, April 24, from 9 p.m. to Monday, April 27, at 5 a.m.

I-5 Freeway Improvement Project Ramp Closures
The Orange County Transportation Authority, in partnership with Caltrans, is improving the I-5 Freeway between the I-405 Freeway and State Route 55 to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and improve travel.
Crews continue to implement temporary striping and place K-rail along the northbound and southbound I-5 Freeway, which requires the following ramp and lane closures:

State Route 133 Closures
The following nightly closures in Irvine will continue on State Route 133 through Thursday, April 23, from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, April 24, from 11:59 to 6 a.m.
- Northbound State Route 133 connector to southbound I-405
- Northbound State Route 133 connector to northbound I-405
- Southbound State Route 133 connector to northbound I-405
- Southbound State Route 133 connector to southbound I-405
In addition, the following lane reductions will continue on State Route 133:
- Southbound State Route 133 between Barranca Parkway
