March 4–11, 2026

Full Weekend Closure I-405 Jamboree Road Off-Ramp

The southbound I-405 Freeway Jamboree Road off-ramp will be closed from Friday, March 6, at 10 p.m. through Monday, March 9, at 5 a.m., to allow crews to safely complete concrete work.

Detour routes will be posted to help motorists navigate through the area during the closure. Please follow all temporary construction signage and reduce traveling speed through the construction zone.

Road Closure on Michelson Drive 

There will be a full closure of the westbound lanes of Michelson Drive between Carlson and Teller avenues Saturday, March 7, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This closure is part of the Jamboree & Michelson Pedestrian Bridge project. The bridge aims to improve pedestrian safety, ease traffic congestion, and serve as a gateway monument for anyone entering the Irvine Business Complex. It is expected to be complete July 2027.

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected. Please consider using alternate routes.

JOST Bridge Project Impacts Jeffrey Road

Work will begin on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) extension between Barranca Parkway and Walnut Avenue Monday, March 9. This extension will connect the existing JOST trail to the Jeffrey Open Space Trail Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge being built over the I-5 Freeway and Walnut Avenue. 

This next phase of the project will require lane closures northbound on Jeffrey Road from Walnut Avenue to Smoketree weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Access to area residences and businesses will be maintained. Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians.

JOST

Jamboree Road and Main Street Intersection Enhancements

The Jamboree Road and Main Street intersection project is underway with work occurring weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and lane closures in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The project, which will continue through August 2026, includes modifications to the alignment and medians at the intersection to enhance traffic flow approaching the I-405 Freeway. It also includes modifying the traffic signal system, providing Class II bike lanes, and adjusting drainage facilities.

Main

Woodbury Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation

Sidewalk, curb ramp, and miscellaneous concrete and accessibility improvements are underway on both arterial and local streets throughout the Woodbury neighborhoods as part of the Street Rehabilitation Program. 

Work occurs weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residential streets and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on arterial streets through May.

Access to streets and driveways may be temporarily restricted while work is underway. Parking within the neighborhood may also be limited during construction activities; vehicles must be parked outside the posted work areas until construction is complete and signage is removed. Access to businesses and private streets or communities will be maintained throughout the project.

Woodbury neighborhoods Street Rehabilitation

Dyer Road On-Ramp Extended Closure

Orange County Transportation Authority crews will be reconstructing the northbound State Route 55 Dyer Road straight on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the on-ramp Tuesday, March 10, at 9 p.m. through Friday, March 20, at 5 a.m. The northbound State Route 55 Dyer loop on-ramp will remain open during this time.

In addition, the outside lane is expected to be closed Friday, March 13, at  9 p.m. through Monday, March 16, at 5 a.m.

I-5 Freeway Improvement Project Ramp Closures

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), in partnership with Caltrans, is improving the I-5 Freeway between the I-405 Freeway and State Route 55 to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and improve travel.

Crews will install temporary pavement markings to implement future temporary striping on designated on- and off-ramps along the northbound and southbound I-5 Freeway, which requires the following ramp and lane closures:

  • Wednesday, March 4, 10 p.m. to Thursday, March 5, 5 a.m.
    Northbound and southbound I-5 Jamboree Road on- and off-ramps
    Northbound I-5 outside lane closure between Culver Drive and Jamboree Road
    Southbound I-5 outside lane closure between Tustin Ranch Road and Culver Drive

  • Thursday, March 5, 10 p.m. to Friday, March 6, 5 a.m.
    Northbound and southbound I-5 Tustin Ranch Road on- and off-ramps
    Northbound and southbound I-5 outside lane closure between Jamboree Road and
    Newport Avenue

    Northbound State Route 261 lane closure between Walnut Avenue on-ramp and El Camino Real overpass
    Southbound State Route 261 lane closure between El Camino Real overpass and Walnut Avenue off-ramp

  • Friday, March 6, 10 p.m. to Saturday, March 7, 5 a.m.
    Northbound I-5 Jamboree Road on- and off-ramps

State Route 261 Lane Reduction

Lanes will be reduced on State Route 261 between Walnut Avenue and Irvine Boulevard for survey work and striping operation. One lane will remain open to traffic.

Work will be done:

  • Northbound: Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Southbound: Thursday, March 5, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

In addition, lanes will be reduced on the northbound State Route 261 between Irvine Boulevard and the I-5 Freeway through Thursday, March 5, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, March 6, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane will remain open to traffic.
