Join Us for the Katie Wheeler Library Grand Opening
Celebrate the grand opening of the Katie Wheeler Library, 13109 Old Myford Road, Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m.–noon. Guests will enjoy a ribbon-cutting ceremony, lawn games, hands-on activity stations, and the harmonies of a barbershop quartet.
Plus, explore refreshed spaces that honor the library’s legacy and discover new amenities and programs for all ages.

U.S. Flag Retirement Drop Box Now Available
A U.S. Flag Retirement Drop Box is now available at the front entrance of the Irvine Police Department. Community members may place American flags that have reached the end of their service in the box, where they will be respectfully handled and retired by the Police Department Honor Guard.

Expanded Passport Service Hours at City Hall
Beginning February 23, passport services at City Hall will be available Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays, by appointment only.
As an official Passport Acceptance Facility, the City of Irvine provides new passport application processing and passport photo services in one convenient location.
Appointments for passport applications are required. To schedule, visit cityofirvine.org/passports.
Passport photos are available for walk-ins Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and no appointment is required.
For passport renewals or to report a lost or stolen passport, visit travel.state.gov/passports.

Lunar Fest: Year of the Horse invites the community to celebrate Lunar New Year week at Heritage Park Library. Join the celebration Saturday, February 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. for a festive afternoon featuring a traditional welcome, lion and dragon dances, Chinese yo-yo, and cultural performances by youth from the Southern California Youth Cultural Association.
Enjoy beverage samples from Irvine’s own Macu Tea and participate in hands-on activities, including calligraphy and origami stations hosted by Global Art Healing Therapy.
