Roadway Improvements and Traffic Advisories

January 28–February 4

Jamboree Road and Main Street Intersection Enhancements

The Jamboree Road and Main Street intersection project began January 20. Work occurs weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and lane closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The project, which will continue through August 2026, includes modifications to the alignment and medians at the intersection to enhance traffic flow approaching the I-405 Freeway. It also includes modifying the traffic signal system, providing Class II bike lanes, and adjusting drainage facilities.

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected. Please consider using alternate routes.

Main

Walnut Avenue Improvements

Concrete sidewalk repairs and asphalt pavement rehabilitation continues on Walnut Avenue from Myford Road to Culver Drive weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through January.

Paving has been completed. Minor striping and cleanup work will continue through the month and may result in intermittent traffic stops as equipment enters and exits the area.

Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected, and motorists should consider using alternate routes.

Walnut

Irvine Business Complex Sidewalk Improvements

The City is making improvements to sidewalks within the Irvine Business Complex through Tuesday, February 24. Sidewalk construction and repair work occurs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Sidewalk and adjacent curblines will be impacted where work is underway, however, traffic flow will not be impacted.

Irvine Business Complex Sidewalk Improvements

Woodbury Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation

Concrete sidewalk construction and repairs are underway within the Woodbury neighborhood as part of the Annual Street Rehabilitation and Slurry Seal project. 

Work occurs weekdays through May, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Lane closures, if any, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Construction is expected to be limited to sidewalks and driveways. Landscaping at the front of various properties throughout the neighborhood will also be restored. Construction crews will be on-site to direct traffic around the work areas.

Woodbury neighborhoods Street Rehabilitation

State Route 55 Southbound Dyer Road off-Ramp Extended Closure

Orange County Transportation Authority crews are performing drainage work at the southbound State Route 55 Dyer Road straight off-ramp, requiring an extended closure of the ramp. The off-ramp is expected to be closed through Friday, February, 6 at 5 a.m.

State Route 73 Closures

The MacArthur Boulevard on-ramp to northbound State Route 73 will be fully closed Wednesday, January 28, from noon to 3 p.m.

In addition, Bonita Canyon Drive on-ramp to northbound State Route 73 will be fully closed Thursday, January 29, from 9 a.m. to noon and Newport Coast Drive on-ramp State Route 73 will be fully closed Thursday, January 29, from noon to 2 p.m. The closures are expected to cause five-minute travel delays.

State Route 133 Closures

The southbound State Route 133 connector to northbound I-5 Freeway will be fully closed Thursday, January 29, and Saturday, January 31, from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m.
