You Can Help Older Adults Feel Seen and Supported
Help Irvine’s older adults feel valued, supported, and connected by volunteering to make regular care calls. Through friendly conversation and compassionate outreach, you’ll provide companionship, a listening ear, and a reassuring presence to those who may feel isolated.
As a Care Call volunteer, you’ll:
-
Make regular 15–20 minute phone calls to older adults at Lakeview Senior Center
-
Offer companionship and emotional support
-
Share any concerns with City staff to ensure participants get the help they need
Volunteers must be ages 21 and older, empathetic, strong communicators, and able to maintain confidentiality. City staff will provide training, covering rapport-building, phone skills, and knowledge of local resources. Hours are flexible Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., making it easy to fit volunteering into your schedule.
Join us in making a meaningful impact—your voice can brighten someone’s day!
