City of Irvine Named a Top Workplace in Orange County
The City of Irvine has once again been recognized as a Top Workplace in Orange County, earning a spot on The Orange County Register’s 2025 Top Workplaces list. Irvine is the only municipality included among the 145 companies recognized this year.
This marks the fifth consecutive year the City has received this honor, which is based entirely on employee feedback and reflects Irvine’s commitment to fostering a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
Now in its 18th year, the Top Workplaces program is conducted by The Orange County Register in partnership with Energage, an independent workplace research firm. Rankings are determined by a third-party survey that measures key aspects of the employee experience and compares results among employers of similar size.

Illuminate Irvine Brings Holiday Magic to the Great Park
More than 10,000 community members joined us at Illuminate Irvine Saturday, December 6, at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex. The event transformed the Palm Court into a winter-themed celebration filled with festive lights, holiday music, hands-on activities, and plenty of seasonal cheer.
The lighting of the Holiday Tree and the Palm Court Arts Complex with Santa and Mrs. Claus was a highlight of the evening, creating a memorable moment for families and visitors of all ages. Attendees also helped brighten the season by donating new, unwrapped gifts for children up to age 12 in support of the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee Holiday Toy Drive.
The celebration continues through January 4 with Holidayz at the Park, an outdoor light display at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex. Guests are invited to stroll through festive light features, explore whimsical installations, and snap photos — including a family picture in Santa’s sleigh. The display is open daily from dusk to 9 p.m.
Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, and vendors who helped make this community event shine. Illuminate Irvine remains a cherished tradition that brings our community together to celebrate the season at the Great Park.

Fresh Start for 2026: Street Sweeping Schedule Released
The City is introducing a new street sweeping schedule for several Irvine villages beginning January 1. These changes will help streamline operations and ensure our roads are well-kept throughout the year.
To find the 2026 street sweeping schedule, visit the City's interactive map at cityofirvine.org/streetsweeping. Select the zone where you live or enter your address in the search bar on the top right side of the page. A pop-up window will display the street sweeping schedule for your address.
Street sweeping removes debris and pollutants before they wash into storm drains that lead to the ocean. It also helps prevent debris from blocking storm drains.
To allow crews to sweep the street effectively, please remove all vehicles from the road by 7 a.m. on the designated sweeping day. Your cooperation is invaluable in maintaining the cleanliness of our community.
